Welcome!! My name is Rebecca Eton and I will be your Marketing teacher this year. Just a little bit about my background, I’ve been involved in Business, Sales, Marketing, and Promotion for over 10 years throughout many industries. I have also taught Fashion Marketing, International Marketing, and Marketing classes in Virginia before moving to Charlotte to join the staff at Independence High School. I will also be one of the DECA Advisors, which is an awesome extracurricular activity and it’s great for college applications and future careers in business.
I will be teaching will be Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Marketing Management. During all of my classes we will do many activities ranging from projects, group projects, speeches, presentations, as well as written reports and daily class work assignments. Although there will be work, there will also be lots of fun and engaging activities, I never want my students to become bored.
The first day of school, all of my students will receive syllabus for the year, this will also be signed by a parent/guardian for their first grade of the year. This will also give more details about classroom expectations, grading process and policies for my classroom.
I know this time of year can be very overwhelming, so I will do my very best to make the transition for everyone as easy as possible. One thing that I believe is that EVERY student starts with an A in my class, and I will provide all of the resources and guidance in order to KEEP that A. At that point a student must take personal responsibility to ensure they put in the effort needed to KEEP and EARN that A.
If you have any questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me or call me at the following : 980-343-6900 or [email protected].
I look forward to a fun, and exciting year!
Best Regards,
Rebecca Eton
